3 DAYS MARRAKECH MERZOUGA

Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Commence your journey with a pick-up from your Marrakech accommodation at 8 a.m. Venture into the High Atlas, traversing the Tizi N’Tichka pass, pausing for panoramic views and capturing the essence of Berber villages seamlessly blending into the landscape. Continue south to the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famed for its Kasbah and featured in cinematic gems like Gladiator and The Mummy. Enjoy leisurely lunch in the town. Progress to Ouarzazate, “The gate of the desert,” where the stunning Taourirt Kasbah awaits exploration. Navigate through the Rose Valley, passing the Skoura palm grove and numerous kasbahs. The valley, known for cultivating damascene roses, hosts the annual Rose Festival in May. Conclude the day in the captivating Dades Valley for an overnight stay.

Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga and Camel Trek

After breakfast, savor breathtaking views of the Dades Valley from a strategic vantage point. Witness the plethora of kasbahs nestled in the mountains. Journey along an excellent asphalt road to reach the Todra Gorges, a haven for rock climbers with its spectacular rock formations. Enjoy a brief stroll in the Todra Gorges before a lunch break in Tinejdad or Touroug. Continue to the mesmerizing dunes of Merzouga, where a one-hour camel ride takes you to a nomadic camp in the heart of Erg Chebbi. Experience a picturesque sunset atop a dune before retiring to a tent under the starlit sky.

Day 3: Merzouga Dunes – Draa Valley – Anti Atlas Mountains – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

Embark on an early morning rendezvous with the sunrise in the desert. Witness a breathtaking sunrise atop a dune before returning to Merzouga on camelback for a delightful breakfast. Reenergized, traverse the arid pre-desertic landscape, encountering the typical acacia trees. Along the way to Draa Valley, relish scenic stops by the river, the longest in Morocco. Journey through the Anti Atlas, with free time for lunch in Ouarzazate. In the afternoon, resume your route to Marrakech, arriving around 8 p.m. Transfer to your hotel, concluding an enriching travel experience.
